The James River Athletic Club (JRAC), the premier girls’ AAU organization in the Richmond area, is beginning its 25th season. As the first AAU program for girls in the Richmond Metro Area, the club continues to provide a quality basketball program for all girls. JRAC began with 3 teams in 1985 and now fields up to 12 teams with players ranging in age from 10-17. JRAC offers girls an opportunity to play at Regional, State, and National competitions every year. It also provides playing time in fall and summer leagues, instruction at quality clinics, and individual instruction by a staff of outstanding coaches.

JRAC has had over 115 former players participate at the collegiate level throughout the United States. JRAC alumni have played at the University of Virginia, the University of Maryland, the University of Richmond, VCU, Leigh High, William & Mary, Virginia Wesleyan, UNC Wilmington, Longwood, Drexel, Holy Cross, Randolph Macon, Loyola of Maryland, the Naval Academy, Coppin State, Savannah College, Swarthmore, UNC Pembroke, Davidson, Western Carolina, Gardner Webb, Lynchburg, Fayetteville State, Mary Washington, Virginia Union, Wintrop, St. Paul's, Patterson Prep, Christopher Newport, Virginia Wesleyan, Cincinnati State, Guilford, Central Connecticut, Providence, Davis-Elkins, University of Hampton, Elon, University of Hartford, Bethune-Cookman, Catawba, Chowan, Mt. St. Mary's, Averett, and George Mason.

The mission of James River Athletic Club (JRAC) is to provide an opportunity for girls to learn and develop basketball skills and to compete at a highly competitive level. We strive to enhance the physical, mental, and moral development of amateur athletes, while promoting good sportsmanship, good citizenship, and safety. We are dedicated to helping our players to develop to their fullest potential both on the basketball court and in life. JRAC is a basketball community fully committed to promoting excellence for our players.
